Regular session of Turkmenistan – UK Trade and Industry Council was held in Ashgabat

On the 25th of April 2019, the Seventh session of Turkmenistan - UK Trade and Industry Council was held in the hotel “Yildiz” of Ashgabat city.

From the Turkmen side, the heads and representatives of the Ministry Finances and Economy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Agriculture and Nature Protection of Turkmenistan, as well as the State Concern “Turkmengaz” and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan took part in the meeting.

From the British side, the member of the House of Lords of the British Parliament Baroness Emma Nicholson, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Turkmenistan Ms. Thorhilda Mary Vivia Abbott-Watt, as well as the representatives of leading British companies and structured organizations participated in the session.     

During the meeting, the parties spoke about the cooperation of Turkmenistan with a number of British companies which have a reputable international standing, in particular working in the sphere of finances, energy and agriculture.  The participants considered various proposals and opportunities for further strengthening of trade-economic cooperation and increase of trade turnover between the two countries.
