We would like to inform esteemed visitors that the application procedure for a transit visa now aligns with the process for obtaining a tourist visa.

To apply for a tourist visa:

1. Applicants are advised to engage with accredited travel agencies in Turkmenistan for assistance. A comprehensive list of these agencies, along with their contact information, is provided.
2. These agencies facilitate the procurement of a Letter of Invitation (LoI) from the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan. The LoI forms the primary basis for the Embassy to grant a visa.
3. Possession of a printed Letter of Invitation allows travelers to enter Turkmenistan without a visa. This document often has an extended validity, providing flexibility in terms of entry dates. The specific validity period will be clearly indicated on the letter.

Layovers 

If a traveler has a layover in Turkmenistan and does not leave the airport or airplane, a transit visa is not required.  

Visa Upon Arrival:

• The time taken to secure a visa at the airport or border checkpoint may vary depending on passenger traffic. In instances of low congestion, the process is typically concluded within 15 minutes.
• Passengers should present their passports to the Migration Service officer, post which they'll be directed to a dedicated cash desk (bank branch) to remit the visa fee. Only cash payments in USD are accepted.
• Fees: $43-45 (Express COVID-19 testing), $14 (Migration fee)

Visa Through the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium:

• If you opt to secure your visa through our Embassy in Belgium, kindly submit:

• Letter of Invitation from the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan
• Filled visa application
• Personal form
• A letter addressed to the Embassy
• A copy of your passport.

COVID-19 Advisory:

• Presently, passengers are not mandated to furnish any COVID-19 specific documentation. However, under rare circumstances, a vaccination certificate might be solicited.
