Ambassador Palvanov meets with the newly appointed Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Belgium

Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Belgium Sapar Palvanov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Belgium, Mammad Ahmadzada, who paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Brussels.

Ambassador Palvanov congratulated his Azerbaijani counterpart on his appointment and wished him every success in his diplomatic mission.

The Ambassadors discussed the current state and prospects for the further development of the traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan. They noted the positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation and the considerable potential for its further expansion across various areas of mutual interest.

Particular attention was paid to regional cooperation. In this context, the sides noted the timely and natural accession of Azerbaijan as a full participant in the format of the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia. It was emphasized that Central Asia and Azerbaijan, situated in a strategically important area linking Europe and Asia, play an increasingly significant role in ensuring stable and reliable transport and transit connectivity between the two continents.

The Ambassadors also highlighted the importance of further developing transport, logistics, energy, trade and economic ties, which contribute to strengthening connectivity between Central Asia, the Caspian region and Europe.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on the growing cooperation of the Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan with the European Union and its institutions. The diplomats noted the positive momentum in relations both with individual EU Member States and at the institutional level with the European Union.

In this regard, the Ambassadors underlined the increasing importance of interregional cooperation between Central Asia and the European Union, including the further strengthening of political dialogue, trade and economic relations, transport connectivity and practical cooperation in areas of common interest.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two diplomats expressed their readiness to maintain regular contacts and to contribute to the further development of friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation.
