Ambassador of Turkmenistan meets with Deputy Mayor of Luxembourg
Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belgium Sapar Palvanov is on a working visit to Luxembourg to present his credentials to the Grand Duke of Luxembourg.
The ceremony of presentation of credentials is scheduled for March 22, and today, March 21, Palvanov met with Deputy Mayor of the city of Luxembourg Maurice Bauer.
The head of the Turkmen diplomatic mission in Brussels, which is also unofficially called the capital of Europe because the headquarters of the European Commission and the Council of the European Union is located here, held a presentation of the new city of Arkadag, the administrative center of the Ahal region of Turkmenistan, at the Luxembourg City Hall.
The diplomat spoke about the priorities and characteristics of the construction of a "smart" city, the concept of which is based on environmental approaches and the implementation of modern intelligent solutions in the field of urban organization, including the social and domestic sphere, security systems, the transport segment focused on electric vehicles, etc.
As noted at the meeting, it is difficult to find another such city in the world, where they were able to build a complex infrastructure of "smart city" from scratch. Even developed countries, including Luxembourg, are only partially equipping old cities with smart city elements. In this regard, the city of Arkadag can be considered an exemplary example for the global smart city movement.
Having promised to invite the leadership of the Luxembourg City Hall to the opening ceremony of the city of Arkadag, the Turkmen ambassador also discussed with Maurice Bauer the possibility of establishing sister city relations between the two capitals - Luxembourg and Ashgabat. The diplomat noted that the Turkmen side successfully practices this format of cooperation with different cities of the world, which provides a unique opportunity to develop interaction between them in the areas of business, culture and education, etc.
