This past Sunday, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan Sapar Palvanov hosted at the Embassy the students of Specialized secondary school No. 97 of Ashgabat, members of the Oguzrobot team, who successfully represented Turkmenistan at the FIRST Tech Challenge European Premier Event 2026 in Eindhoven, the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The Oguzrobot team earned the right to participate in the European Premier Event after its successful performance at the FIRST Tech Challenge Central Asia 2026, held in Astana, Kazakhstan. The final stage in Eindhoven brought together 105 teams from 33 countries, offering young participants an important international platform to demonstrate their skills in robotics, engineering, programming and innovation. The Turkmen team performed successfully and entered the TOP-20 of the competition.

The team included students Durdane Kurbanova, Ogulay Kulyyeva, Oraznyyaz Rejepov, Nepesaly Tachmyradov and Nuraly Kerimov, under the mentorship of Gurvan Seyitgulyyev. The event took place on 16–20 June 2026 at the Indoor-Sportcentrum Eindhoven and was organized by the Dutch foundation STEAMup, the FIRST Tech Challenge affiliate partner for the Benelux region.

During the meeting, the Ambassador congratulated the students and their mentor on their successful participation in this prestigious international competition. He noted that the achievements of Turkmen schoolchildren in robotics and modern technologies are a positive example of the growing interest of the younger generation in science, technology, engineering and innovation.

The Ambassador also introduced the students to the work of the Embassy, sharing his experience of diplomatic activity and explaining the role of diplomatic missions in representing the interests of Turkmenistan abroad, strengthening international cooperation and developing relations with European partners.

In a warm and motivating conversation, the Ambassador encouraged the students to take a responsible approach to their education, to continuously improve their knowledge and skills, and to confidently pursue new achievements. He emphasized that educated, talented and goal-oriented young people will play an important role in the further development of Turkmenistan and in strengthening the country’s scientific, technological and intellectual potential.

The gathering was held in a friendly and inspiring atmosphere. The participation of the Oguzrobot team in the FIRST Tech Challenge European Premier Event was highlighted as a successful example of Turkmenistan’s representation on the international educational and technological stage.
