The Ambassador met with the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Lithuania to the European Union.

Ambassador Sapar Palvanov met with Mr. Narijus Aleksiejūnas, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Lithuania to the European Union.

The diplomats discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union, and exchanged views on the further development of engagement in priority areas.

The Ambassadors emphasized the importance of bringing cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union to a new qualitative level, including through the strengthening of political dialogue, the expansion of practical cooperation, and the further improvement of the legal framework.

During the discussion, it was noted that under current conditions, particular importance is attached to the implementation of concrete areas of cooperation identified within the framework of the Global Gateway initiative. In this context, the sides underlined the promising potential for interaction in such areas as transport connectivity, energy, sustainable infrastructure links, the climate agenda, and other fields of mutual interest.

Particular attention was also given to the positive dynamics of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Lithuania. The diplomats noted with satisfaction the steady development of Turkmen-Lithuanian cooperation, as well as the existence of a constructive and friendly dialogue.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Ambassadors confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening the partnership both at the bilateral level and within the framework of engagement with the institutions of the European Union.
