As part of its efforts to strengthen cooperation with representatives of the international media, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Kingdom of Belgium has officially presented an accreditation card to Derya Soysal, a journalist for international outlets EU Reporter and Bruxelles Korner, a researcher specializing in EU–Central Asia relations, and an expert in environmental governance. As of now, she is officially recognized as a correspondent of Bruxelles Korner accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
It is worth noting that Ms. Soysal is also a member of the prestigious Diplomatic World Institute, which highlights her authority and deep involvement in diplomacy and sustainable development.
In recent months, Derya Soysal has actively cooperated with the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan in Brussels. Through her academic contributions and media engagements on scholarly platforms, at international conferences, and in television and radio broadcasts, she has contributed to a broader understanding and recognition of Turkmenistan’s constructive foreign policy, particularly its policy of positive neutrality.
Maral Rahymova, a representative of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium, praised the journalist’s contribution, stating:
“Ms. Soysal has actively participated in and spoken at events organized by the Embassy as well as at other reputable venues. She demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the Central Asian region, possesses in-depth knowledge of its historical context, culture, and political processes, and covers issues related to its development with professionalism. Thanks to her analytical approach and precise command of the subject, her presentations on Turkmenistan spark strong interest among international audiences.”
In her numerous interviews, publications in international media, and social media posts, Derya Soysal consistently emphasizes the importance of Turkmenistan’s international initiatives. A special focus of her work is promoting the principles embedded in the concept of the International Year of Peace and Trust – 2025, declared upon Turkmenistan’s initiative.
Thus, Ms. Soysal’s accreditation as a Bruxelles Korner correspondent accredited by Turkmenistan’s foreign ministry stands as both recognition of her professionalism and a meaningful contribution to the expansion of humanitarian and informational dialogue between Turkmenistan and the international community.
