GURBANGULY BERDIMUHAMEDOV AND SHAVKAT MIRZIYOYEV HAD A TELEPHONE CONVERSATION

Yesterday, a telephone conversation took place between the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, first of all, wished the leader of a friendly country a successful meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States of the Organization of Turkic States in the city of Samarkand, expressing confidence that the Summit chaired by Uzbekistan would be productive, and its results would be a significant contribution to further deepening interaction and multifaceted cooperation between Turkish speaking countries.

Touching upon the topic of bilateral relations, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening comprehensive ties with Uzbekistan, based on the strong ties of friendship and good neighborliness that have stood the test of time.

During the conversation, The Chairman noted that he remembers with special warmth the recent official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan, which became a landmark event in the annals of Turkmen-Uzbek relations.

The closeness and coincidence of the positions of the two countries on issues of international politics and regional relations of mutual interest were noted with satisfaction.

As stated, an active political dialogue has been established between the neighboring states at present. Turkmen-Uzbek trade and economic relations are dynamically developing, cooperation in cultural, scientific and humanitarian fields is successfully expanding and strengthening.

Along with this, inter-parliamentary ties are also developing further, which, according to the parties, complement these multifaceted relations.

At the end of the telephone conversation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev good health, long life and great success in all his affairs and undertakings.
