Shavkat Mirziyoyev has arrived in Ashgabat
Today, at the invitation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Turkmenistan on a two-day official visit.
Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Atayev and other officials met the distinguished guest at the Ashgabat International Airport.
In accordance with the program of the visit, an official welcoming ceremony of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Turkmen-Uzbek high-level talks will be held in Ashgabat on October 21. This will be the fifth meeting of the presidents of the two countries since July this year.
On July 14-15, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov paid a state visit to Uzbekistan, which opened a new page in the history of modern bilateral relations.
The upcoming summit is also marked by the fact that it is taking place in the year of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The focus of the current negotiations is on deepening the Uzbek–Turkmen strategic partnership relations at a new stage, increasing the volume of mutual trade, expanding cooperation in industry, energy and chemical industries, agriculture, transport and logistics, as well as continuing active cultural and humanitarian exchange.
As a result of the negotiations, it is planned to sign a solid package of bilateral agreements on priority areas of cooperation
On the second day of the visit, the President of Uzbekistan will visit the Memorial Complex "People's Memory" in Ashgabat, where he will lay a wreath in memory of the heroes who left their mark in the glorious historical past of the Turkmen people, and get acquainted with the exposition of the museum located there.
During Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to Turkmenistan, it is also planned to open the Tashkent Park in Ashgabat and jointly launch of a project for the construction of a cross-border trade Center.
