THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN HEARD THE REPORT BY THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

Yesterday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, at which Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov made a report on the results of the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for January–October of this year.

The Minister's report contains the following information

In order to practically implement the Foreign Policy Concept of neutral Turkmenistan for 2022-2028, relevant comprehensive work has been carried out.

Visits and negotiations at the highest level are of particular importance in the development of international cooperation. In this regard, it was noted that during this period the President of Turkmenistan made six state, official and working visits to the Russian Federation, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Presidents of the Republic of India, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Prime Minister of Georgia also visited our country.

The President of Turkmenistan has held telephone conversations with the leaders of a number of States.

Turkmenistan was visited by 141 foreign delegations through the Foreign Ministry. At the same time, 273 delegations of our country were sent abroad. One thousand 669 meetings of various levels were held online. Turkmenistan conducted 386 official talks and meetings with representatives of foreign states and international organizations. Since January of this year, 142 international documents have been signed.

Consistent steps are being taken to develop Turkmenistan's foreign economic relations and cooperation with specialized international organizations. A number of meetings of joint intergovernmental commissions and meetings of co-chairmen were also held during this period.

The proper work has been carried out to implement the Programme of Development of Foreign Economic Activity of Turkmenistan for 2020-2025, the Foreign Trade Strategy of Turkmenistan for 2021-2030 and other important documents related to the trade, economic and investment sphere.

Domestic government agencies together with specialized international organizations are carrying out appropriate work on the accession of our country to the World Trade Organization. Being elected to the UN Commission on International Trade Law for the period 2022-2028, Turkmenistan has begun relevant activities within its framework.

Summarizing the report and addressing the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and all other Vice Prime Ministers, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the major international events aimed at implementing the constructive initiatives of the fatherland, visits of heads of state and conferences scheduled before the end of the year. During the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan paid special attention to the celebration of the International Day of Neutrality. In this regard, the head of Turkmenistan instructed to ensure a high organizational level of preparation for these important events.
