Ambassador meets with the Permanent Representative of France to the European Union

Ambassador Sapar Palvanov met with H.E. Philippe Leglise-Costa, Permanent Representative of the French Republic to the European Union.

The diplomats discussed current issues of cooperation within the European Union, as well as prospects for further developing interaction between Turkmenistan and the EU in priority areas.

The Ambassadors emphasized that the strategic interregional cooperation between the European Union and Central Asia should be reflected in bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union practically and consistently. In this context, the importance of timely strengthening the legal and contractual framework of cooperation was underlined.

The French diplomat expressed support for constructive initiatives being advanced within the framework of cooperation with the European Union and highlighted the importance of Central Asia and Turkmenistan as a stable and secure link between Europe and Asia.

The Turkmen Ambassador noted that Turkmenistan consistently pursues a policy aimed at strengthening its role as a reliable, stable, and responsible part of the space of intercontinental connectivity, making a practical contribution to the development of sustainable ties between Central Asia and Europe.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on such relevant areas as energy, critical raw materials, and the climate agenda.

The diplomats noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and France, emphasizing the friendly nature of contacts and the well-established constructive dialogue at a high level.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further expanding cooperation and also expressed support for the initiatives of the Turkmen mission aimed at strengthening dialogue between Central Asia and the European Union in Brussels.
