Ambassador meets with Germany’s PSC Ambassador
Ambassador Sapar Palvanov met with the Ambassador of Germany to the Political and Security Committee of the European Union, Mr. Martin Schäfer.
During the discussion, the diplomats positively noted the bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Germany, highlighting their constructive and steadily developing nature. An exchange of views also took place on cooperation within the European Union.
The Ambassadors emphasized the importance of further strengthening and modernizing the legal and contractual framework between Turkmenistan and the EU, as well as enhancing the effectiveness of existing cooperation mechanisms. Particular attention was given to the need to establish a more practical and efficient legal platform that would facilitate closer interaction between EU institutions, EU member states, and Turkmenistan, enabling all sides to realize their potential better and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
The sides also underlined the importance of maintaining and deepening the existing dialogue between Turkmenistan and the European Union. In this context, it was noted that advancing EU-Turkmenistan relations to a higher and more substantive level is both timely and well-grounded, especially in light of the elevation of EU-Central Asia cooperation to a strategic level in the previous year.
The Ambassador of Turkmenistan emphasized that cooperation with the European Union and its member states is among the key foreign policy priorities of Turkmenistan. He highlighted the active engagement with European partners in the implementation of national development programs, noting that Turkmenistan views its European counterparts as reliable and trusted partners.
