Meeting with the delegation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

On April 21, 2016 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan there was a meeting with the delegation of the Netherlands, headed by the Ambassador at Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country, Mr. Jan Paul Dirkse.

         At the meeting, the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation were discussed, as well as the sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest. In particular, the sides discussed issues of expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in political, trade-economic and humanitarian spheres. Among the areas of interest the parties noted political and diplomatic cooperation. The sides marked the role of the intensification of contacts between the foreign ministries. In addition, special attention was given to the further development of cooperation within international organizations, in particular the UN, OSCE, and also discussed prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union.

As part of the negotiations affecting trade and economic component of relations, the representatives of the Netherlands noted the interest of leading Dutch companies to work in the Turkmen market. The parties expressed their commitment to further progressive development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, based on the principles of mutual respect.
