Ambassador presented his credentials to the Grand Duke of Luxembourg

Ambassador Sapar Palvanov presented his credentials to His Royal Highness Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg. The presentation ceremony took place at the Palais Grand-Ducal of the Grand Dukes.

After the ceremony the Turkmen ambassador was received by the monarch and an audience was held to discuss prospects for multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, both in bilateral relations and at the Turkmenistan-EU and EU-Central Asia forums. The sides discussed opportunities for expansion of economic relations and touched upon other topics, including those related to regional security.

The Turkmen diplomat conveyed greetings from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and confirmed the Turkmen government's readiness to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The ambassador assured that he would do his best to develop the Turkmen-Luxembourg cooperation at a new level, and said that work had already begun on establishing a systematic dialogue between the two countries' business circles.

Herzog fully supported this initiative and added that the sides need to learn more about each other.

It was noted that the two states have good prospects for realizing the potential of cooperation in the political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, and the key to this is regular communication at various levels.

Duke Henri also welcomed Turkmenistan's policy aimed at supporting the common efforts to combat climate change, namely the reduction of methane emissions. Sapar Palvanov emphasized that as an energy power, Turkmenistan is not standing aside in the general fight against climate change, and is taking necessary measures to implement national plans in this area.
