Ambassador's meeting at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce

Turkmen Ambassador to Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg Sapar Palvanov met with Cindy Tereba, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce. The diplomat made a presentation of the new Turkmen city of Arkadag, the administrative center of the Akhal region. Noting that this city will be the first in the country to have the status of a "smart", environmentally friendly city, Palvanov invited Luxembourg companies to participate in joint investment projects using high-tech solutions in the field of digitalization, IT, and also called to explore the possibility of cooperation in the field of management systems "smart city".

Stressing that Luxembourg is one of the leaders in IT development, Cindy Tereba opined that companies of the Grand Duchy would definitely be interested in cooperation with Turkmenistan in this sphere and would prepare their proposals on management of "smart" city Arkadag. She said that the Chamber is actively involved in creating opportunities and tools for bilateral cooperation and is ready to assist Luxembourg companies to enter the Turkmen market.

The sides also agreed on the need to create a platform for establishing contacts between the business communities of the two countries, to explore opportunities and potential, as well as find the most mutually beneficial areas for investment.

One of the results of the meeting was an agreement to organize a round table in the nearest future in Luxembourg or in Ashkhabad to bring together heads of companies and financial institutions of the Duke, business community and economic bloc of Turkmenistan for more detailed discussion on counter proposals.

Sapar Palvanov confirmed that Turkmenistan sees Luxembourg and the European Union as a reliable economic partner.
