Ceremonies in Belgium and the Netherlands, devoted to the 20th anniversary of the Neutrality of Turkmenistan

As part of the program of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry to conduct large-scale events in connection with the announcement in Turkmenistan the year of 2015 as the “Year of Neutrality and Peace”, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Kingdom of Belgium together with the Turkmen Cultural Society "Turkmen-Balkh Dostlugy» in the Netherlands organized celebrations to mark the 20th Anniversary of the Neutrality of Turkmenistan.

In particular, the celebrations were held on September 23 in Brussels (Belgium) and September 25 in the town of Weert (Netherlands). The ceremony was attended by the representatives of Belgium and the Netherlands Ministries of Foreign Affairs, heads of EU institutions and NATO, heads and staff of the diplomatic missions of foreign states, international organizations and other public organizations, including scientific and public figures and representatives of the Turkmen Diaspora in the Benelux countries.

These measures were accompanied by the presentations of the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and showing video presentation "On the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan", during which the foreign guests were given an objective and comprehensive assessment of the multifaceted impact of the Turkmen neutrality in the global integration processes, the vision of new approaches to address common challenges in the light of foreign policy and Turkmenistan's peacemaking initiatives.

Presentations have also been pointed out that the successful development of Turkmen-Belgian and Turkmen-Dutch relations in a wide range of areas in the political, trade, economic, humanitarian, scientific-technical and cultural spheres is largely made possible thanks to the consistent implementation of Turkmenistan's policy of permanent neutrality.

In addition, the celebrations were actively involved members of the Turkmen delegation from cultural and artistic figures who performed the Turkmen national songs and dances, classical and opera songs. Also, the director of the Museum of History and Ethnography of Lebap province together with the Turkmen Cultural Society "Turkmen-Balkh Dostlugy" in the Netherlands organized the national exhibition showing the spiritual and cultural development of the Turkmen people. At the end of the event, participants were offered dishes of Turkmen national cuisine.
